unsuccessful day in the desert

i'll blame it on all the smoke we have in the valley. didn't even hear any whistle pigs while i was out. did get some fun in target shooting though.

thanks to all for the random help i've asked for on this board. finally have a comfortable setup with nice optics, and the ability to shoot out longer while away from home.

@sticman I am originally from Pocatello, and I remember there rock chucks being gone by July around there, unless you went up high high. I guess the west side of the state is different, but yes, from what my family has told me the Idaho weather is nuts.

it feels like summer has ended and started again multiple times.

i was born and raised in boise, but only recently moved back. maybe i'm remembering the seasons wrong

In different parts of the state the rock chucks / whistle pigs may behave differently, I just know by a typical July in East Idaho chucks are down for the rest of the year, normal, but as you said it hasn’t been a normal year. Are you from the Boise area originally? Me as are my parents and half grandparents born and raised in Idaho.

me and all my siblings were born and raised in boise. my parents moved to boise from korea in the early 70's.

i moved away from boise in my 20's, but decided my parents got it right, this is a good place to live :)
