Unexpected performance

I got a 177 HW97K a couple of weeks ago and tried the usual pellets, JSB, AA, H&N and the crosman HP in the tin container. They all shot pretty good with the JSB 8.4 doing the best. I was in my shop and ran across some crosman destroyers 7.6 gr and just tried them to see how they performed. Incredibly, they performed better than any of the pellets at 25 & 35 yards. I'm going have to run to Wally World and try to find more.

Strange about those isn't it? They shoot well in my guns too.

Yep. I keep a bunch of crosman pellets on hand. I've found that many of my guns shoot them very good. My cricket compact shoots the crosman domes better than any JSB pellet.

My HW50 eats the Crosman 14.3 domed all day long with tight groups up to 52 yards, sometimes in the same hole! The only thing I can say about the Crosman pellets is they have a lot of lead residue present. When ever I shoot my HW50, my fingers are black with lead dust in an hour. I purchased a metal sieve to start cleaning them prior to use. Anyone else get really dirty fingers after shooting Crosman pellets? Anyone else clean Crosman pellets prior to usage?
