Unable to reach 300 bar on new gun

I have a new gun that is rated to hold 300 bar and holds 290 cc. My SCBA (88 or 98 scf - cant tell sticker has a scratch) tank is sitting at 4000 PSI . I tried to fill the gun to 300 bar but can only reach 250 until it reaches what appears to be a state of equilibrium between the gun and the tank. Is this right or am I doing something wrong?

Pics were taken at what I think is equilibrium (no more air entering gun from the SCBA tank).

Ok. So then my gauges are correct. My tank can be filled to 4500 but is currently sitting at 4000. The shop always gets it close to 4500 but when i get it home its dropped a little. Guess I will have to make sure they fill my scba tank and then let it cool and top it off again after the pressure drops from cooling. Thanks for the quick response I was worried something wasnt right

Your tank and fill whip gauges are 1000 PSI apart and the gun gauge is in between. Two or all of them are wildly out of kilter. If you want to know which one is correct, you will need to compare them with one that is verified to be accurate. I agree with all of the above, you don't need to fill to the max each time. Even if you manage to get a full 4500 PSI fill from your dive shop, you might only get a couple of full top-offs before the tank drops to under 300 BAR. I doubt that you will lose too many shots from not filling over 250BAR anyway.
