Umarex Primal 20

Due to such limited demand, air-powered shotguns have been an extremely niche market. No surprise that (essentially) custom or hand-made American products target American consumers well-off enough to satisfy their esoteric whims.

The increasing use of arrows in airguns has increased popularity of smooth-bore airguns enough to attract Asian manufacturers to the new and expanding market niche; of course bridging the expense chasm between American boutique airgun makers' offerings and mass-produced Asian products.

I'd venture to speculate that the majority of big-bore smoothbores are used to shoot arrows, round balls, and/or slugs, versus a minority that ever shoot more than a few shot-shells after initial testing the see how shot performs in an airgun.

I believe that you simply press in a 20 ga fiber wad flush with the bottom of the magazine hole, fill with measured shot then seat a fiber wad on top, using the provided tool or something similar. You could turn a dowel rod with a step on it for consistent compression of the shot if you wanted to get fancy. You can load both chambers with shot, or possibly one with shot and the other with a slug as long as you have a cylinder choke or the rifled choke installed. A rifled choke will likely create a donut hole in the middle of your pattern but for close range shots, it might not be too large. The slugs would be more accurate with the rifled choke. Multiple magazines would allow you to have more than one shot at the ready.

Loading the mag starts at about 10:00.

Would like to see one with two 580 cc carbon fiber bottles on it to almost triple the air capacity!
