Umarex Umarex Notos magazines - can they be made more reliable ?

Has any body been able to have their Notos magazines work reliably?

This is not about buying CARM magazines but fixing the original Notos magazines !

I have 8 Notos magazines and often they will do one of the following:
-jam
A pellet is partly stuck in the barrel and partly in magazine.
The magazine cannot be pulled out anymore.
I have to use my cleaning rod to beat the pellet into the magazine, then disassemble the magazine to take the pellet out, and so on.
-double feed
If you pull the sidelever, get a jam and then pull the sidelever again.
-no pellet in the barrel
Shoot and not pellet comes out, because the magazine drum did not rotate.

I don't think I've touched my Notos Magazines since I got the CARM Mags! They were too small and fiddly for me. Sounds like the pellets are staying in the mag and are sliding forward causing the jam. This could be due to not enough tension from the internal clock spring. On older Crosman Mags, you could open them up and give the internal wheel one extra turn to add another turn of tension on the spring. Have you tried that?

Usually I fix these kind of magazines by adding spring tension.
This means an extra rotation of the magazine drum before reassembly.

my cure for loading my notos mag. spin the spring up load first round from the back like most snowpeak mags. flip the mag and load 5 rounds. I'm good with 6.

I used mine for a couple weeks and several hundred pellets without any issues. I guess I got lucky with mine. It now just sits in the rifle bag as a backup. I also really only used Crosman 14.3 domes with it. Maybe the harder pellet alloy helps?

I have managed to fix one magazine after wrangling with the spring.

You need to add extra spring tension.
I have extended the spring (about twice as long) and twisted the spring ends to get more grip on the magazine casing and drum.

The AEA magazines are at least as bad and they need the same cure.
