Umarex Gauntlet in .25 Cal

So what can you expect right out of the box (without adding a bigger bottle, changing the valve, regulator, polishing (Haj 
etc... 26 shots at 880 fps with 25g pellets. I'd say that some solid performance for a $300 airgun.

Do watch the video carefully though. Cocking looks really rough, the trigger needs work. Hajimoto found cracked parts, and for a PCP, it's LOUD! As a number of people have said, the gun screams with "Potential", but needs work to achieve that potential. I'd pay extra for a gun that was properly machined out of the box. To me a new gun shouldn't be a project out of the box. I'd say the same for the Fortitude or any other low-end gun.
It's an excellent design, has great potential, but kind of like my wife's Chevy Citation of many years ago. The car was comfortable, big engine compared to other cars, rode really nice, but the engine never really worked. It constantly had mechanical problems then the front end went out. I sold for a pittance and bought a Subaru for a whole lot more than the venerable Citation sold for. Much happier with the Subaru, even though it cost 5 times as much and had a lot more miles on it than the Citation.
Even though the Gauntlet is an econo gun, if it doesn't work well, it's a chore to shoot and really takes all the fun out of it. Maybe better to spend a bit more and get a gun with not only a good design, but better execution of the design.
I guess the proof will be in the reviews coming out after people spend their hard earned currency on the Gauntlet .25
