Umarex Airsaber Arrows Blow Up Mid-Flight!!!

Was shooting my Airsaber at 101yards today and one arrow blew up at about the 50 yard mark....It was very loud.... like a fire cracker.... This happened the other day also at 50 yards when s arrow vanished with a weird puff... Well I wouldn't believe it until I saw it myself...The Umarex arrows are accurate enough for grouping at 100 yards. But have about 3percent fail rate...lol...a buck of a lifetime and arrow explodes before getting to 🦌.... Going to try some Easton Aluminum Arrows...

That's really wierd that it explodes at 50 yards. You'd think if it were due to defective materials in the arrow shaft, it would explode as it slides off the air tube! You could reason the pressure is much greater as it's launched, 50 yards away I'd think most of that initial energy would have dissipated!

You sure Shooter1721 was doing trick shots by shooting arrows in flight? 😁

I'm going to try to recover the arrow. I really can't walk much..Ill try too off of my Quad...The Umarex arrows are accurate enough from the groups I'm getting. But I don't want a arrow faliure when hunting.. The Easton 2219 Aluminum xx75 22 inch arrows will be here tommorrow hopefully... They are rated to 98,000psi so I'm hoping the 3400 psi from the airsaber won't affect them. I shot a Umarex arrow without fletchings at 100 yards... It hit the target... Just about 8 inches higher than the fletched arrow....I never thought a arrow without fletchings would make it accurately to the 100 yard target. But it did...If I could run a arrow with no or very small fletchings....I could run a LDC and quiet things down???? Going to test some more😀

Well Today shooting again. I found the suspect blown up Umarex Arrow... It blew the field.point right out..It was loud like fire cracker...30 yards from muzzle.

every time you shoot that arrow it becomes a pressurized cylinder until the arrow clears the barrel. those appear to be a unidirectional carbon shaft which are not designed for expanding forces. the aluminum should be better, and a multidirectional weave carbon arrow should be ok also. would be cool to see a video of that though.

That's a tough one to call, I have been pulling a stick and string for 40 years. Spline flex equates from pushing an arrow from behind against the weight of the head. You are pushing an arrow at the head. But it is possible that you are undersplined per say but I just don't see how at the moment.

I imagine they are just a cheap arrow from China with out regard to directional weave .

I suspect one if three things.
1) arrow is hitting something in its ark, maybe a treelimb
2) you was shooting groups and one struck the other and stressed the arrow
3) impact related from the point striking the target.

Boonze40 1. Shooting in wide open field.. No limbs..
2. I didn't hit arrows.
3. Field point blew out at 30 yards mid flight..didn't hit anything

Yesterday I was shooting on my range and found the other Umarex arrow too....Just the same... field.point and insert cleanly blew out. I don't that the glue between the carbon and aluminum is holding. Air pressure blows them out.. Umarex arrows probably cheap Chinese... For hunting I wouldn't use the Umarex arrows for a chance of failure. The Easton 2219 Aluminum arrows haven't had any failures yet. They are rated to 98,000 psi.so.I'm shooting 3400 psi in my Airsaber .

The Airsaber is by far the best buy in pcp big bores. It took me no effort with the UTG 130BDX crossbow scope to shoot out to 120 yards... Easy...No cleaning... No fuss.. The Umarex arrows do shoot well enough... But the Airsaber 3400 psi to much for there arrows ... The Airsaber been a breeze to shoot accurately long range. My Texan took all the skills I could muster to get it to perform... For the money $230.00 best big game hunter!!!! I will shoot my Airsaber against any crossbow made... Its a Ravin killer..poor man...lol

Airsaber cheapest accurate PCP with capability of taking any big game..lol. Try to find something cheaper and accurate in our pcp world to harvest a deer or hog ethically... $230.00 for my Airsaber.... Cheapest big bore....$500.00
I also say the Airsaber is like the reviews on YouTube... I think its a lot easier to make a straight tube cheaply than make a cheap rifled barrel like on most all big bores...The stock on Airsaber is great.... Buying a stock for a Texan $500.00. Airsaber good for new pcp shooters pretty easy to operate.
