Taipan Type One Taipan's...A Testimonial.

I own and shoot regularly four Taipan type one's, Two standards one Mutant standard and most recently a compact Veteran, all in
22 cal. All the standards were included in my thread of a few months ago, "Why I like Taipan Veterans." With groups ect. My Taipan ownership began in '18 and to current date no issues with any of them...just outstanding service! Each Taipan platform I aquired seems to be better than the previous one...I was convinced the Mutant standard was the best of breed until I got this compact in a trade. Want to focus on the compact as I haven't written much about it. Been in process of familiarization testing pellets holding and shooting the shorter platform. I sincerely regret I did not discover the compact Vet platform until late in my "airgunning shooting career" so to speak, starting over today I would get three compacts in all three calibers and call it a day...Their harder to find now that their discontinued especially the .177's...I greatful to have ONE! My compact is fed JSB and JTS 18"s to 835-840fps, not sure of shot count 50ish isn't an

issue considering the way this thing shoots...the JTS 18"s especially, far exceed my expectations. The compact is a little tricker to hold and shoot but .5 pounds lighter than the standards...I will post a few groups All at 47.5 measured yards all shot nonbenched. The small five shot groups were JTS 18's the 10 shot was JSB 18's. The main reason for this post isn't to show off nice groups but to encourage folks to get these type one Taipans while their still around....the way their built and the way they shoot
..AND those triggers. I don't know if I'll keep all four...but I may, as their just such good airguns.

Nice shooting. I have a mutant standard myself. It’s such a solid and well shooting gun. It’ll sit for a couple months, take it right out the bag and shoot 1/4” groups at 50 yards. Not one of those guns you bump and worry about POI change. I actually shot my best groups ever with my mutant.

A vet or mutant shorty is on my want list. This post makes me want one even more lol

Happy Shooting,
Rob

Nice pic! Your taste for nice knives also.👌

@RM100GUY Are the compacts quiet like standards. Nice not having to add the length of a mod.

Rob
Very similar, shorter barrel and air tube...the tube clamps are a little closer to the block...about a half pound lighter...biggest difference is noticeably shorter...feels like you can put it in your pocket!!! Unbelievably accurate with a 350mm barrel....same trigger though!

I want one BADLY but love my Bobcat, Royale, Boss so much I won't sell any of them to fund a Taipan. I've never even gotten to shoot one but the loyalty & lauditory reports of owners tells me that I want one. ESPECIALLY since the side lever came out! Been eyeing the Vet2 tact for a year now!
Gerry, you would definitely enjoy one! The shot count was something that surprised me mainly because of the the 300 bar fill pressure and maybe some new valving. I fill mine from 250-270 bar and get a plethora of shots with the standard 550mm .22. The 700mm is probably even more efficient with it's larger 72cc plenum. Another plus is it's ability to shoot slugs with it's non choked CZ barrel if you want to shoot both ammos like me.
