Tx200 rebuild issue

As I noted in an earlier post I am rebuilding my TX200. I have new spring, seals, etc.

I dry run the cocking (not firing) before putting back in the stock. Everything seems fine. I put it in the stock and the bear trap will not release. I pull out and it works. I put it in and tight the action bolts (trigger) and it works.

But, when I tighten down the 2 forend screws the bear trap will not release. I loosen them all is fine.

I can't see what I am doing that would cause such.

Ideas?

Well if unless aa using screws that are too long to start with id have to assume the wood been crushed as is now so the screws are too long from said above interfering with cocking ..? So adding a washer just lifts the screw back..

Found this may hold interest

I can use a spacer. I assume the wood is compressed as well. It may well be the fixture screw is too high HMN. I will have to check that next time I have it apart.

The rebuild is all stock and done. It will need a few hundred more to settle but it is back to where I started. I think there was a leak in the compression chamber but as I replaced it, and most everything else as well, I can't be sure. Using weight sorted Normas for a before and after test, this is what about 40 pellets found it doing. So while the SD and ES were pretty similar the FPS went up over 100 and the and FTE increased a fair bit. This is where the gun was shooting previously, As I am shooting 50 and 100 yards in the summer the FPS was my desire to get back to ground 0.

You might want to ck those Normas by head diameter. A buddy just bought several, thousand and was getting some flyers and then had 2 slide right down the barrel several inches. He sorted them, they were all over the place. Within a number they shoot and group very good. The ones quite a bit undersized he discarded. Shooting them sized not weighed he is shooting itty bitty groups of the bench at 20 meters, some look like 1 pellet but 5 in the hole.

My experience as well.

After day 1 it is starting to stabilize. There was one bizarre chrony reading but it was otherwise pretty stable. I was running AA 10.3 for the most part today. Though it was the 13th round so would not have been within the 10-shots I usually have done. Left is after the rebuild and D1: After is after today.
