Hello has anyone had the piston bearing wear out? Or have you replaced them? If so where did you get them from? I can find them online from stores in the UK but nothing state side. What is the best indicator of replacement needed?

I did,nt even no their was a bearing in it/? only thing I ever saw was a piston with rod on end.

PA generally lists them .... Yes they do wear out & the rear ring mostly from burrs in the cocking slot. If rear ring has scratches / gouges .. thats why ! Forward ring generally sees little wear.
On my custom TX / PS tunes ( Motorheads AG Tuning Services ) I offer custom made wear rings that are oversize fitted to the tube / piston spec that really tighten up the action and kill a bunch of vibration.
NO I don't sell these as self tuner parts.

Hello Scott, what is your rate for a full tune these days? Also do you machine stainless shoes like Maccari used to? I seen that PA sells the bearings but you have to buy a hole rebuild kit.

PA normally has piston bearings but they are currently out of stock, I bought the last one a month ago, for my rebuild. Website says they may get some more in April, maybe.

Scott, about how many thousand of shots would you guess it would take to wear it out?
I know for a fact my TX has had 21,000+ pellets down the tube...
I didn’t get Scott’s full tine but he did put a DELRIN spring guide in and touched on the trigger...

On the few TXs I've worked on, the bearings weren't sized big enough to even do their job when new. They just rattled around, and didn't stand proud of the piston.
Honestly they are just a gimmick unless fitted to the parts they work with, to remove any play, as Scott mentioned in his tune.

When done as buttons about 5 yrs back, they did wear out fairly quick....single points of contact!
However, now as rings, they seem to stand up much better. Recently did a Phosphor Bronze ring for someone...I will up date on it in the summer when I said I would have it back to see how things are doing.
