Two thousand H&N .218 23 grain slugs

Been sorting by weight. Thirteen weigh 23.0 gr, seven were over 23.4 (usually 23.6), and the remainder are 40% 23.2, 60% 23.4. Both these latter shoot well for me, and 23.2 may have an edge in lower ES over the chrono, but they group equally well. Pretty damn consistent slugs. More wind-sensitive than I'd like but you can't have it all. Shooting a .22 Impact MkII PP 700 mm.

And a shout-out to Trenier, who ship promptly, at good prices, and always well-packaged.

I was using the STX pellet liner issued with the rifle, but after installing CF sleeve it lost accuracy, so I installed a Standard Superior, not heavy, using good old O-rings, and am getting better accuracy than I got from the STX pellet liner pre-sleeve. Never again CF sleeve for me. The fit in the barrel was loose, not severe but wobble is definitely there, and there's no going back now. I tried changing the tune but never got back what I'd lost, added a single thickness of Scotch tape in three places, which made it snug and zero shift went away, but group quality never recovered. These slugs are giving me 0.2-0.4" 5 shot groups at 70 yd and 0.9"-1.0" at 100 yd if no wind, or a steady wind. Checked my zero every morning for a week and it never changed.
