Twist Rate

I just measured my brand new .177 barrel. The rifling twist is 1 in 19 inches. I am surprised, the .177 barrel is only 19" long. Much shorter than the .25. I didn't expect that. I believe the .25 is advertised at 60 CM (23.6"), although I have never measured it. The barrel ID as measured with certified pin gauges, is on the breech end go =.173, no go = .174 and on the muzzle end go = .173 and no go = .174. The brass breech block however is .180 and the probe is .170. So, there is no choke at all in the barrel. Again, I am surprised. Should I be surprised? Comments please. All this translates to a .003" bite on standard pellets and a .004" bite on the larger .4.52mm size.
