Tuxing mystery part

Can anyone tell me about the part in the red circle. It is on the head of the low pressure side of a TXED012 compressor. I can find nothing that looks like it. My compressor suddenly refuses to go above 250 bar so I figured it was time clean the check valve. I disassembled the high pressure cylinder head and discovered the check valve is gone, the high pressure piston has only 2 rings ( only 2 grooves ) and was packed with some black grease. Everything I can find about Tuxing says there should be 4 rings and lightly oiled for assembly. I think I got a bogus machine.

I don't know. Kinda scared to twist it. I can't tell if it's threaded or pressed in.
I got this advice from a motocross magazine 20 years ago and it's sage wisdom. "if something is hard to do mechanically, you're probably doing it wrong"

So give it a twist but not enough to cam off the drive part or break sealant. If sealant breaks easily and it's smooth, blue or green(proper for that use) loctite works or superglue in a pinch.... My experience with rebuilding several Yong hengs and a tuxing is it's easy, the fit is sloppy and they go back together in the roughest of conditions.... Mine just wasn't clearanced right and broke the stage 1 piston crown, and bent the rod. I got ali express parts and it ran a couple years more. Fear not. I went and bought the biggest tuxing they made at the time and it's been a champ. It feels like stage 4 might need a new oring or a reed cleaning soon too.

Thanks to all who offered their expertise. I soaked everything that had even a hint of corrosion in white vinegar for 24 hours, washed parts in hot water and polished everything with Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish. Absolutely no corrosion left. I'm amazed at the improvement in my compressor. It's quieter, runs cooler, fills my bottles in at least 25% of time originally required and held pressure for 2 hours. The low pressure side is my next project.
