Turret alignment issue on my Athlon Argos BTR Gen2 6-24x50

The elevation turret hash marks on my Athlon Argos BTR Gen2 6-24x50 scope do not align with the lines on the scope. It's annoying considering this is not a low end scope. I occasionally reset the zero stop but see no way to adjust the preciseness of the hash mark alignment. Is there?

It sucks but is not uncommon. Good thing is that if its consistent, its not really a problem. If the variance changes as you click that could be a bigger problem. I use hold over/under so while my more expensive scopes (by up to a couple hundred) do the same, it has never bothered me. Folks who rely on clicking will have other opinions.

Yup, that's just one more first world problem we have that need fixed lines that don't quite line up. I'm a little OCD with this as well but I'm werqin on it.

Nothing to be done but send it back and say "this is unacceptable".

Athlon sent me a procedure to follow that involves using acetone to loosen the indicator sleeve and then superglue it back in place. 


The windage knob is spot on.


Is this really common? I actually expect it to line up given it’s a precision instrument and is intended to do so.

IT is CDO disease ,, the letters need to be in alphabetical order 

did you try taking the knob off and moving it 1 or 2 splines one way or the other to get the lines to line up

The turret lines, line up on my Helos and on my Aztec Emerald... So it’s the indicator sleeve that is misaligned, but the clicks are precise and repeatable? Then it just a cosmetic issue, but I can see where that can be irksome. Athlon does have a warranty, though it’s a pain you could send it back.

I don’t understand what the ‘indicator sleeve’ is. I looked at my turret and turret cap and see nothing that looks like I can unglue and adjust. the hash marks on the turret itself look engraved/embossed and not on some sleeve that slides on and us glued.

Never had a problem like this with my Vortex scopes.

I popped the elevation turret off my Helos, but couldn’t see a sleeve.

Now that I looked at the photo, I see the indicator sleeve is offset to the right, that sleeve is the part on the housing with numbers on it indicating which revolution you are on, and it's glued on.

I've seen the marks not line up perfectly on other brands including Vortex, it's not uncommon, especially on cheaper scopes. I had a $1500 Bushnell LRHS that was off a little bit.

Anyway maybe try the acetone thing if you want or send it back.
