EDgun Tuning questions for Edgun Matador R5

Hello! I have a Matador R5 in .30cal, with a huma regulator and power plenum that i bought used. (My first PCP air rifle)

I chrony’d the gun at shooting between 790-800 consistently on all shots with jsb 44.75. It is super accurate at this setting, but I want to increase power to 890-900fps.

are there any good videos or guides on how I can tune my matador?

There might be, and I’m not an expert buy any means or someone who adjusts regs from factory settings. There may be an old Earnest Rowe video on Y/T or just ask for Marc at Huma Tech Support.

I had my huma at 140 and was able to get over 1000 with poly mags. I now have it at 115 and 850. Mine is the super long though.

@G1122123 Yea I think @Joekrooz Had it right the R5 and R5M are a little different. I fount this Ernest Rowe Reg Tuning video for the R5. I haven't watched it.

Sorry I didn’t clarify. I have R5 .30 super long. I know people were getting the R5 standard in the high 900s.

The R5s came in 3 sizes. Standard 18.5” barrel. Long 23.25” barrel. Super Long with a 27.5” barrel.

The Standard I owned had a Huma without the power plenum and it easily pushed 44gr JSBs at 895fps with the regulator set at 127bar. Got 30 solid shots before it went off reg.

A friend with a Long would get 890 @ 115 bar. With the same pellets. No power plenum either.

i have the 23.5 inch long. .30. I am getting consistent 790 with the jsb 44.75, no leaks. I dont feel confident enough to take the entire thing apart and put it back together yet, which i need to do to adjust the reg. Also wonder what its set at vs where i need to be

One of the simplest guns to work on. You can adjust the reg by the try and try again method or get a reg tester from Huma. Money well spent. If one of the above vids doesn’t show the assembly re-assembly just root around the EdgunWest YouTube stuff. Brian has a few step by step videos that show the whole process.

These holes are supposed to have air coming out of them when you fire right?

How many turns on the hammer spring 10mm can i go? I dont want to turn it too far to cause damage to the gun
