Tuning Tuning FX Impact M3 for MV

To get best MV..... try....

FX suggests a 30-40 bar difference between the 1st & 2nd regulator to allow adequate pressure fill.

*****
1. Open....valve adjuster max.. all the way out.....5+ rings
HS max to ~ #8
Micro to max... #1
2nd reg to 110
1st reg to~160

2. Shoot 5 shots to get MV... this will find the best 2nd reg pressure.
Want pellets 860-880
slugs. 960-980

3. Increase 2nd regulator until you reach 15-20 fps above your target speed.
Shoot 5 shots... get MV... adjust...
(This adjustment finds. the best amount of air. pressure to send the. projectile down the. barrel.)
The pressure adjustment can be INCREASED without removing the the air tank. .....but...... to decrease the pressure the air tank. MUST BE REMOVED....

The reg. adj. screw is. behind the trigger. Remove the trigger guard
with a 2.5mm Allen. wrench. The adj. screw is a
2.5mm head. Adjust. counterclockwise to
increase the pressure.
Very little rotation is
needed to alter the
pressure.
Press. now at 110...
adj. to 115..
The 2nd pressure guage
can be observed as the
screw is adjusted to
obtain the desired
pressure.
....replace trigger guard.

4. Adjust the HS (Max wheel) until the MV is a few fps above the desired value... shoot several shots to allow the gun to "settle in."
(This adjustment gives
the best HS pressure to
the projectile. )

5. Now adjust the Micro adjustment until the MV is on the desired value.
(This adjustment gives
fine tuning of the HS
tension.)

6. Close Valve adjuster (turn it in) until you notice it just starting to shave off
the last couple fps ... you want to end up at the desired fps for projectile.
Close the valve adjuster only 1/8 turn at a time.... very precise.
( The valve adjuster
regulates the time the air
port is open. By.
adjusting it down...
turning valve in and
finding the MV
decrease.... you adjust
the airflow to stop. when
the projectile exits the
barrel. This ensures the
projective exits the barrel
without deviation of flight
from too much airflow.)

7. Adjust 1st reg pressure to 30 bar above the 2nd reg. pressure.
( This will give adequate
pressure fill of the
plenum.)

Pellets should end up
~1st reg 150 bar
~2nd reg 110 bar
Slugs should end up
~1st reg 180 bar
~2nd reg 150 bar

Pellets fly well ~ 830-860 fps
Slugs fly well ~ 930-960 fps

...PROCESS TO FOLLOW...
1. Open all adjustments....
Valve adjuster max...
all the way out.....5+ rings
HS (Hammer Spring) to ~ #8
Micro to minimum... #1
2nd reg to 110
1st reg to~160

2. Shoot 5 shots to get the MV... let the MV stabilize as the gun settles.
(This will find the starting 2nd reg
pressure level.)

3. Increase 2nd regulator until you
reach 15-20 fps above your target
speed.
...Shoot 5 shots... get MV... adjust...
(This adjustment finds the best
amount of air pressure to send
the projectile down the barrel.)
The pressure adjustment can be
INCREASED without removing the
the air tank.....but...... to decrease
the pressure THE AIR TANK MUST
BE REMOVED....

The reg. adjustment screw is behind
the trigger. Use a 2.5mm Allen
wrench with a ball head for
adjustments. Adjust the screw
counterclockwise to increase
the pressure. Very little rotation is
needed to alter the pressure.

4. Adjust the HS (Max wheel) until the MV is a few fps above the desired value...
...Shoot 5 shots... get MV... adjust...
shoot several shots to allow the gun to "settle in."
(This adjustment gives the best
HS pressure to the projectile.)

5. Now adjust the Micro adjustment until the MV is on the desired value.
...Shoot 5 shots... get MV... adjust...
(This adjustment gives fine
tuning of the HS tension.)

6. Close Valve adjuster (turn it in) until you notice it just starting to shave off
the last couple of fps ... you want to end up at the desired fps for projectile.
...Shoot 5 shots... get MV... adjust...
As adjustments are made, the MV will stay about the same until there is a definite drop. Set the valve at the position just before the drop.
Close the valve adjuster only 1/8
turn at a time.... very precise.
( The valve adjuster regulates the
time the air port is open. By
adjusting it down... turning valve
in and finding the MV decrease....
you adjust the airflow to stop
just as the projectile exits the
barrel. This ensures the projectile
exits the barrel without deviation
of flight from too much airflow.)

7. Adjust 1st reg pressure to 30 bar above the 2nd reg. pressure. The gun must be degassed to make this adjustment. Take the gas pressure canister off the gun to get to the 1st reg adjustment port.
( The ~30 bar pressure gradient
will protect the 2nd reg.)

8. ...Shoot 5 shots... get MV... ensure the MV has remained the same after all adjustments.
