Trouble with the Tactacam

I have a Tactacam 4.0 with the FTS I haven't used in a couple years. Taking it out, it was till 3/4 charged and I topped it off. The camera came on as soon as I installed the battery and started recording, but it won't pause or shut off. I removed the micro sd card and reformatted it. I re-installed the sd card and battery, and tried it again with the same results, only now it's not recording at all. Also, I can't change the settings or turn on the wi-fi. Any suggestions?

Some electronic items have a method to hard reset. For some it's a software choice, for many it's a small hole with a button inside that you press with a pin.

Have you called Tactacam? You should get to talk to someone that can help.

I'm shocked the battery still had ¾ charge, especially after a couple years! If I leave the batteery in mine, it slowely discharges to nothing over a matter of days. Can you connect to the App? If so, you may want to try doing a firmware update. That might clear the problem.

You hit it really “hard” with a hammer…? Couldn’t resist…

FLgunner, with the buttons unresponsive I can't turn the wifi on.

With the company not making these anymore, I was going to buy another battery for a backup. Glad I checked it first.

UPDATE:

I emailed Tactacam and within 2 hours received a response. They recommended I try a new micro sd card, so I did and...it's working great!
