When I first bought my Trails I did the bearing fix, the triggers were better but they needed some more work. A fare while ago I watched a video on polishing the sear which I tried and it worked well on my 177 Trail. My 22 cal Trail has always been very accurate but I really have to concentrate as I would sometimes get a vertical string from jerking the trigger.
Instead of polishing I filed the end which is released by the trigger ( second photo, look at shiny bit) with my dremel useing a light grit paper and polished it after. I had done this with the 177 but very sparingly. I still followed the same process but this time used a slower speed and a slightly heavier grit.
Put everything back together and tried her out. The trigger is now for want of a better word smoother in process with a lighter feel and with a better break, and most importantly my groups have closed up, no stringing and jerking. I’m going to now have to do the same thing with the 177.
