I don't own any modern Walther rifles so I can't compare. These vintage models are very low powered and typically intended for 10M match so the recoil is extremely low. The LGV Special which is about the same power as the other Walther's above (~5-6fpe) has counter wound springs, a heavy barrel sleeve and a thick stock. It's about as close to recoiless as you can get without having a true recoiless springer.

I saw it a few times but went right past it because I was not looking close enough. I thought it was a 300S as those seem to be so much more plentiful. When I actually took the time and read it correctly then clicked and saw the pic I was excited. Jim and I worked out a very fair deal and it was here in a matter of days. Now I need a nice sunny day and few minutes to get some more pics and group shots.
