Trending topic, I found my airgun...taipan love story

WARNING LONG READ

So I had to get the taipan out. This afternoon was perfect. I zero'd it in from the tripod and got to shooting.

For those who don't want to read "Holy F#%^&*@ S=÷×!!!!!"

First group is 80 shots, yup 8 mags, at 70 yards. Shooting .25 34.95 grains. 80 damn shots.

From there on I was HOOKED, I had found MY rifle. I kept launching these things at a wild speed down range till I lost track of the count at 21 mags which is 210 rounds. I STARTED WITH A NEW TIN.

NONE OF MY RIFLES HAD MADE ME WANT TO SHOOT THIS MUCH.

The second gaping hole is the 210 plus in the same hole.

Bear in mind I was talking/texting with @matt.jodoin , listening to music, reloading, checking the group, all while shooting these 200 plus rounds.

I MADE A big mistake on fill pressure, it IS NOT 4500. I did have my tank tethered today at 3800 maybe a bit under. Which is still too high. Big big mistake.

With that said I am truly confident without rushing n me doing my part a deer or smaller is dropping with a well placed head shot in front of the ear. This thing hums. It was shooting 25.4 at ~1000fps when I chronod it.

The taipan veteran is ROBUST. Built like a tank.

The magazine system is awesome, no dealing with springs.

No double feeds.

The trigger eats my fx triggers alive.

The bullpup configuration fits me perfectly.

While I do dislike having to maneuver to cock it, the @talontunes_airguns biathlon lever makes this action MUCH more enjoyable.

It's as quiet as my dreamline is with suppressor and I haven't even suppressed it yet.

There is NOTHING that has checked all my boxes when it comes to air rifles, this one has in one tin of pellets.

The only reason I stopped shooting today was because I forgot I ordered food and had to go pick it up.

I would need help lol

All I can say is, the Taipan is extremely over looked this thing is insane!

I thought so! I was scratching my head wondering why my vet standard was 250bar max (as I was looking at the side of my gun) and wondered if the long versions were now 300bar! didn't want you blowing out your gun after having such a good day with it!

I wish I had gotten an owners manual with the rifle, I got it used. I am glad someone spoke up , glad you both did.

Just got my .22 standard in from UA. Originally wanted the Wildcat MKIII but that gun is not left-hand friendly. Went with the Taipan instead, and I’m pleasantly surprised. Excellent build quality, shoulders great, sounds great, feels great, plenty of power, and shoots amazing. Many critics poo-poo the rear cocking, but I don’t mind at all.

My only complaint is the cold metal rear block where you rest your cheek. I already installed a custom (made by me) delrin cover plate. Now it’s perfect!

I’m in the market for a soft case for the Taipan if anyone has recommendations.

Kevin, Love stories like yours are always in vogue. Enjoy.

Shooting this rifle through 1 tin had me disassembling my Aeron CZ dreamline I built so fast and posting it up on the nation in pieces.

Lot of thought and money into that build.

Not a fad with this rifle but a revelation. Don't buy into the hype.

The outspoken few were the ones I should have listened to. This rifle is in a different world in comparison
