Tract Toric or Hawke Frontier Or?

I installed the Hawke Airmax Compact 4-16 x 44 mm scope of my HW95L and this is an accurate combo and lots of fun to shoot.

Tract Toric is clearer than the Hawke Frontier and clicks are a lot better too.

They are in the $1300 price range for the 4-20x FFP this ones easy to see the reticle at low magnification.

Since you are used to Zeiss and European glass the Tract Toric is probably closest unless you buy the Zeiss 4-16x50 SFP I posted for under $900 on another reply with a link sold with a discount as showroom demo. It focuses down to 10 yards.

Have had both the TT 4-20 and the Frontier 4-20. IMO the TT for +$400 is a better scope all around and Odoyle will agree...😁

I will point out that for close range to 100yd the Hawke is a fine scope, but there are many to chose from for this range and price <$1000. Further than 100yd, I would consider others.

After testing the Trijicon Tenmile 3-18 FFP it is a step up from the TT in so many ways it is worth considering. JMO.

Just did some more testing between the Hawke Frontier 4-20 and my Crimson Trace5 3-18x50. For $200 less ($699 Midway) it edges out the Frontier in some important categories to me and is equal in others. Weight is kind of a big one for me. Frontier in @ 22.2oz and the CT5 @30oz. Length is 13" and 14" respectively. Again, My eyes and my 2 scopes. Here are some of the comparisons I have rated. Just sharing my observations, that's all. YMMV.

Glass resolution-CT5>Frontier

CA (Chromatic Aberration)-Frontier>CT5 (CT5 is quite good for this price)

Eye box-CT5>Frontier

Brightness-Frontier=CT5

Tactical feel-Frontier=CT5

Reticle option-Frontier=CT5

Weight-Frontier<CT5

I appreciate all your info. I can definitely get the Frontier a lot cheaper. And that matters right now. So it’s still a tough decision.
