Top finishes at 100Y BR - skill or luck?

I have an 30 caliber FX M3 with a 700 mm barrel superior heavy slug liner and I’m shooting a Neilson 47.2 grain slug. I’m in need of someone to help me with a tune for that slug and what would be a good speed for it. Any help I’d really appreciate.

Interesting read. The wife and I made it to the sportsman finals and I got bench 1, she got bench 3. I came in 8th, the wife came in 2nd, and the person on bench 2 got first. Both 1st and 2nd place had flags and it came down on the ability to read the wind.

I've always thought skill, practice and experience gets you in the top 20, then luck gets you in the money. If the event was held indoors, I think you'd start to see more of a pattern develop when it comes to the order of finish year to year.

I guess I see it just the opposite. IMO, what separates the best shooters from the rest if the group is the ability to read, and compensate for, the wind. If held indoors, it would become a trigger pulling contest with almost everyone near the top. Indoors would surely be nice in the winter, though.
