Tool kits

So I have a toolbox loaded with matco , snap on etc for working in vehicles....

When i first got into this sport last year I bought some harbor freight screw drivers and Allen wrench t-handles... realizing now they're likely to just cause damage than work for me

Anyone have any go to kits or sets that are quality that work really well around pcp?

I have used Chapman tool sets for many many years with no issues. Very well made, popular with most gunsmiths. All flat blade screwdrivers are hollow ground so they dont slip. Phillips head drivers are also precision ground to fit the screw head. There allen heads are also precision ground to exact sizes. Never had one slip or mess up a screw head. Very strong, never had a tool break. I bought mine thru Brownells many years back, they have a good selection of gunsmithing tools. My R/C tools have also worked very well when I need very small tools for tiny screws.

Bondhus

and Eklind

are a couple that make Allen wrenches in the U.S. so the material and fit is right.

I like the Klein, SK, Xcelite, Snap-on, Mac and Matco screwdriver sets.

as well at these little Picquic multi blade units that I carry in my range bag.

I am a fan of Wiha tools for airguns. They are expensive, though. Within the last year I have found Wera tools to be the best overall bargain for high quality airgun tools, at a reasonable price, that are specifically designed for the job at hand. I order Wera tools from KC Tool (they have sales specials, etc. all the time.)

I am hoping this to be true, my time in the service department for a mobile machine shop I worked at for 6 years should have told me don't trust chinese junk on fine tooling. I ordered a nice canvas roll up bag to keep everything stored. I am enjoying this hobby, new to it as of last summer, while it is expensive, the return is awesome. Im a gear nerd too , so, perfect hobby right? Problem is , im running out of space to keep everything lol however its making me find ways to keep everything compact.

Thanks again!

I have a older set of gunsmith screwdrivers from Brownells, short and long handles that take various tips, all hollow ground and replaceable. It has a few of the odd torx and hex type bits in smaller sizes also. I have several sets of Bonhaus folding wrenches in English, Metric and Torx types, as well as larger individual wrenches, long and short, English and metric, Eklind brand I think. No chinese, never, never, always top quality screwdrivers and wrenches.

Here's my FX tuning kit. Tee hee.
