Took The 300s Out For a Few

Shot 20 at paper target off hand..

Not too bad for an old screw.

Then five at the ABC Bell Target.

I saved four of the pellets.

The 300 might not have much power but it can flatten 8.2 grain WC pretty well.

It's one of those yes and no answers. The 54/56 does have the sledge type semi/recoiless feature but are much higher powered and not intended for 10M matches like the 300's are. The other recoiless system is one that I do not think anyone produces today is called a Giss system which uses dual opposing pistons to cancel recoil (Diana & Whiscombe)

Thank You. The lower power is actually more appealing.

I do not think they make re-coiless springers anymore.

In the day it was the 300 and Diana 75.

Maybe a couple more (Walther??).

If I was younger I would sell the 300 and get a FWB 601-603 type rifle.

The Diana 54 is a recoilless springer, I just got a new one, but nowhere in the same class as a 300s. My 54 is 22 cal, and takes probably 3-4 times the cocking effort and trigger is not in the same league either. At 10 meters with aperture sights the 300s is more accurate than the 54 with a big scope.
