I finally got to work on my nova liberty 22, I drill out the barrel port, added two more washer to the hammer spring and turn the regulator up half of turn. I put everything back together to test it out and it seems to be alot louder even with a moderate on. Is it just me or have someone have the same thing happened to them, I know with more power the gun get louder but it just seems to be too loud.

too much hammer , the valve is still open when the pellet leaves the barrel most likely, tuning can be a delicate balance of plenum pressure hammer weight and spring , transfer port diameter , and a few other things that a few guys here on this site can maybe help you with .

Somewhat obvious..!
More air volume down the barrel, more air pressure down the barrel...more noise...out of the barrel !

My experience with venting the shroud, changed the tone, but not lower the overall db reading. The foam can compress, and become louder.
Damage to the barrel o-rings or probe ones, will be leaking and loud.
As others said, can be just the power increase or too much dwell.
