I had purchased a used like new Taipan Veteran 2 Tactical from a friend here and after a couple of months of shooting it, the cocking got intermittently gritty then more consistently gritty. I contacted Tony whom my friend purchased it from and also Marek Dengl of Taipan and was told to blow the cocking action out with a big blast of compressed air which I did to no avail so Tony suggested I send it to him for services. I sent it to Tony and he ended up polishing both the pellet probe, the magazine locking probe and internals of the probe housing. I received it back today and boy did he do a fantastic job fixing the cocking issue! These Vet 2's are known for having a smooth and sublime cocking experience and he not only fixed the issues but made it smoother than OEM which is ridiculous! He also added a UNF 1/2 20 adapter that fits at the end of the OEM shroud in whcih I added a Donny Sumo which made the report mouse fart quiet! He also worked the trigger group taking out any creep and worked it to have such a clean crisp break, incredible! If one needs service on a Taipan, and give Tony some time to service it, you will be rewarded with a custom serviced Vet that works better than OEM, he really takes pride in his work! Here is a photo of the probes he polished, the UNF 1/2 20 adapter he makes and a custom 3D cheek rest from a seller on ebay that goes by F3D-Printing, about 20 bucks, it comes with the rear cheek piece and the forward part, I only installed the rear one as I already had a forward soft cheek piece installed.
