I managed to get a little more work done in the studio today/tonight.
I've been wanting to get the bench top done. So, I picked up some lumber on the way home from work and was able to get the frame work and part of the bench top completed, despite some interruptions.
Of course, "Frank" had to give it a trial run!!
One interruption was a vol. fire call. Then, a couple of "targets of opportunity" stopped by. The Wolverine R didn't let me down (and they will
NOT be flying home
)!
Another, was a project I've been wanting to start since I moved here. I received a "new to me" road grader. It's "new to me" but, it's
definitely vintage! Patent date is January of
1915!!! After a few hours working the local roads near my house, I was able to get back to the shop and back to work.
LEVEL, Both ways.
The extra holes in the wood are there because I'm recycling the bench top I built at my previous residence.
The tentative plan is to make an extension in front of the window in the same shape as an EBR benchrest. However, I may alter the design or scrap the whole thing and make a basic straight extension.
Cheers and
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Tom
