Today we try fix the Aircuda MAX regulator,....will need help.

Never even seen a regulator before so I will definitely need help,...will take pictures as I go along.

About a month ago I noticed that the regulatore pressure matched the tube pressure, also the gun leaked to 0 in the past 2 weeks or so.

The gun was not actually at a complete empty so I had to de-gas

Tubes are off, I assume that is the regulator,....do I just push it out of the tube ?

Regulator is out and I can see a small nick on one O-ring

Also I would like to set the regulator lower since I want to make this gun into a low power shooter,...how do I do that ?

I guess the clockwise is the way to go to diminish pressure,...so I guess I just go experiment

Yes sir clockwise to lower. A full turn is about 120 bar so 30 bar every quarter turn if I remember correctly.

I did half turn but the Regulator gauge climbed to 150 BAR,...so now I'm guessing the O-ring was not the problem ?

what else could it be ?

Well, looks like she lost 40 BAR overnight so I guess I need to go back in anyway,....really need to get more info on how to fix the regulator tho

At it again today,
of course I have zero clue what I am doing and since no one gave me any tips on regulators I just went in and winged it

opened the regulator and of course half them washer just went flying put them back how i figured they should go but I have no Idea, then I just could not figure out what else to do but grease the rings

Put it back together and the gun too, aired it up and of course the regulator gauge is the same as the airtube gauge again

Maybe I should stay away from this kind of stuff

Guess I'll just open everything up and run this gun unregulated,

.......going to research now what the best way to do that is.

Likely the Oring on the brass set point adjuster. measure the height of the reg body / adjuster before unscrewing it. Replace the oring and reassemble to the same measured height.
* When this oring leaks the reg goes into bypass and has the issue your having.

Not familiar with this reg but I bet there’s an inner o ring inside the main body that you missed, or like the impact one inside the tunnel that the regulator went into.

When fill pressure becomes equal to reg pressure that is most of the time a failed o ring that’s a part of the reg, or the regulator seat itself got crushed and now won’t seal.

When you turned the adjustment screw CW to close did you come to a soft stop?

Yes, this is an easy fix but like Motorhead stated, you should have your ducks in a row before you just start taking regs apart. Proper measurements can save a whole lot of air up, check, degas, disassemble, adjust, assemble, air up, check, degas, disassemble, adjust….
Replace every oring in the reg. Not just the ones on the reg.

@AirArcher66 I was just about to suggest that you contact @Motorhead to ask, but I see that he beat me to it. That measurement is important. You have any calipers handy?@nervoustrig is another knowledgeable guy in this area.

Have you tried to search for a diagram of the bellville washer stack pattern in that regulator? I’ve only messed with taking apart one regulator and I’m unsure if the pattern of the washers differs from regulator to regulator.

@Vetmx I definitely dropped the ball in trying to help him find information. Been working like crazy this past week. Been so tired I thought some sort of new K&L but-stock was a swaging press in another thread. We’re gonna try and help Manny sort this out.

As Scott said, that is a symptom of the O-ring on the adjuster.

I've never had a regulated gun so I'm totally ignorant on the matter, Yesterday I noticed the Regulator gauge was showing same pressure as the airtank gauge so I filled the gun to 250 BAR and to make sure it's was not the gauge I tried to shoot with the Hammerspring completely backed off, and...
