Blew a breech O-ring in my Wolverine today AOA sending replacements. What is the trick to installing same. Was told bend it like a taco to get it in place. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Tips to install breech O-ring in my Wolverine

The best method I've found is using two small Allen keys. Remove the barrel and clamp it carefully so you can use both hands. Fold the O ring like a taco and put the edge into the slot. Use the Allen key to hold that edge in the slot and use the other Allen key to push the rest of the ring into place.

I use a wooden dowel rod. Just insert from muzzle until it’s right at the edge of the oring groove. Push in the oring and seat it with a brass or wooden pick. Easy. Some guys have a knack for it, I don’t so this method works great for me.

Any small tool without a sharp edge works. With barrel off, squeeze the O ring and place it in the breech. Then fiddle around with your tool until it slips in the machined recess. If it's not working, take another sip of bourbon and try again. It will eventually fall in place. If not, try a different bourbon.

My procedure;
Place gun on a table on a towel or blanket use a table lamp for good lighting so you can see.
Using a Crown saver or cleaning rod push a small patch up to the groove from muzzle end, (to give oring a wall to rest against and not just push up the barrel), coat oring with a little silicone grease and stuff oring in breech using a tooth pick, the thick kind, start any part of oring in the groove and drag it little by little around the groove with the tooth pick, be patient and take your time if you get frustrated walk away for a few minutes, this procedure has worked for me many times hope it helps, good luck!

wooden dowel or BETTER YET, a cleaning rod with no tip attached. Takes some fiddling around the first time but after that its EZ-PZ.

I NEVER remove my barrels. Don't want to chance the gun not being as accurate based on first hand experience. Everyone else's results may vary. Until that one time. Then you remember I wasn't B.S.ing.

I wrap painter's tape on the probe not too tight so it can slide. Put o-ring on probe close bolt home SLOWLY! see the tape slide back then done. I use very little shoe goo on a toothpick dab on o-ring on the temperamental ones.
