Tip for making flags

Hello colleagues,
I want to make flags to monitor the wind direction. I have an idea but do not know what textile band to use? What material should it be from. Please give me advice on material or link to appropriate flag bar. You can also share a tip about the size of the tape.

I would also be interested if you tell me some ready-made solutions that are on sale to see how they look. / not made by you but sold on some site /

Thanks in advance!

I personally use surveyors tape. It's readily available and shows wind well. I use about 4' lengths for repeatability. It lasts a long time in the sun too.

I bought one of the phone wind readers and simply compare what the flag says at any given wind speed. It gives me a pretty good idea what the wind is doing where ever I hang one. I don't even use the phone reader anymore.

I've even thought about making a chart so others could use it to get an idea of wind speed but life keeps getting in the way. If I remember correctly the flag goes 90 degrees at around 10mph.
