Continued sub-freezing temps and strong winds mean the madness in the garage is ramping up. I've transitioned to my Daisy/Avanti 853 with a 2-7x32 scope as I shrink my targets. All of the targets shown below were hit using this set-up at 4x.
Here's the shooting station. Not a bench, but not off-hand. More like semi-rested with plenty of wobble if my breathing is off.
Here are a sequence of photos beginning with my 8 meter shooting lane and progressing to my latest tiny target set-up... unusable Gamo 21 gr .22 pellets.
That's a column of Duct Seal I use to lift the pellets high enough for me to hit since my shots are still rising at this distance. Here's the situation half way through the process; note the .177 pellet stuck in the seal where the left-hand .22 pellet had been. At this point both side pellets had been hit; note that I've laid the top pellet with the skirt facing me to increase the challenge.
Final result. During the first attempt at this challenge the bottom pellet was hit in the head by the .177 pellet shown next to it. The upper three pellets are from the second set of targets I set out. These are the same ones that are shown above. Note that I did finally manage to run a .177 pellet up the skirt of the top-most (center) pellet.
Here are the pellets used both as targets and as ammo for the Avanti. My wife thinks I'm a loon but these challenges have been fun to think up!
