I really like a nice thumbhole stock and wished there were more factory versions in wood as I am really not a synthetic stock fan. They are some of the most comfortable stocks for me to use and I love the look as well.

the legend has it that a prince of Sudan had his best gunsmith modify and tune 3 R9’s . One in each caliber. Custom stocks were made by a well know stock maker in the US. This is the .177 model. The .22 and the .20 have not been found.
by the way, they say the Prince killed the gunsmith after he was finished so no one else would have a gun as nice as his.



I stumbled upon this rare jewel thru a mutual friend of Mike Ellingsworth.

Just got a HW97KT .177. Such a comfortable and natural grip, as well as a good stronghold. Also have a Walter Varmint synthetic.22 and really like the feel. When I make a stock that’s going to be the one for me to copy.

I noticed different sized Objective Lens, which size do you prefer? Crow

Tools for the job kind of thing, for FT I use 50mm and that's fairly new to me. Most of my scopes are probably 4-12x40 but as you noticed I have a variety, some older ones are 32mm.

Can’t stop coming back and checking out these guns you have. DualMagMike the 97KT is nice but that Theoben Sirocco Grand Prix is so sweet. Have to be honest I don’t know of this make. Is it vintage? The craftsmanship and the patina in the older guns is just mind boggling. Thanks Crow

Theoben is gone some years now. They were the original gas ram although so many think that is new technology Theoben invented it in the 80's. The Sirocco GP dates from around 1995 and this one with the factory iron sights is quite rare.

Tho the thumb-hole stock design does have a definite ergonomic,natural feel and I like it.BUT ! I think that the HW and Diana safeties do severely hamper the HUNTING,or FIELD use of the tool.If you have to remove your trigger (HAND) from it's set position to disengage the safety, this is definitely a check in the minus column.

I just bought a thumb hole. I got a HW97KT .25. Two weeks ago I got it in .177. First time I bought two guns with same stock. Love the thumb hole. Crow
