Hello AirgunNation Peoples,
Power mods, slug liners, and harmony tunes created three PCP’s that shoot pellets and slugs quite well! It’s a “TRIPLE DOUBLE”! I believe I’ll be pulling the parking brake and stopping right here on tunes, modifications, and accessories on my DreamPup (.22), Wildcat MKII (.25), and Crown (.25).
Did I just say that??
Yep, I think so! They repeatedly give me the same predictable performance and accuracy each time I use them. I have created distance hold charts for them (practically memorized them all). They’re scoped, zeroed in, and have everything I would want to bolt onto them. Frankly, I don’t want to throw any more money at them, except for ammunition.
I chronograph’d each one with their most accurate pellets and slugs. After some final hammer spring tweaks. Then, shot some groups 10 shots @ 100 yards with the same pellets and slugs. Just my normal non-serious leisure trigger time fun session at the home range. Thought that I would share the results with you guys. In their respective caliber they all sport 600mm slug liners.
The wind was (left to right):
DreamPup .22
(Ballistic Coefficients are not accurate in the chronograph screenshot results)
I realize the JSB 18.13g are shooting “hot”, but I see no accuracy difference if I click down my hammer tension and shoot them at 880fps. The gun is a hunter so I like the power and flat trajectory way better. They are stable and fly true @ 975fps. Field tested multiple times. Several headshot squirrels, rabbits, doves, and starlings all would agree!
Wildcat MKII .25
(Actual best group of the session)
Crown .25
10 shot groups will make a honest man out of you. They’ll tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. What you’re doing and what the gun is doing. I see a obvious left to right wind push, but thats to be expected with the days wind conditions. The elevation POI was nothing to complain about. Also, the pellets seemed a bit more precise at least for this session (pellet groups held tighter). Go figure? Anyways, just displaying the final results after several hours and dollars of mods and tune work I’ve done on my “Triple Double” PCP’s. to reach pellet and slug shooting equality. Probably should have just bought a Impact, but the journey was worth it. I’d do it all over again..
