Tuning Thread protector for FX Crown

I am trying to find a thread protector for my FX crown. I like the feel of the rifle being short and have been shooting it without the supplied supressor. It does not have to match the barrel perfectly either. The rifle is quiet enough without the supressor and I am in a rural community. I have been to the local Ace Hardware store to just find something with a 1/2-28 NF thread just to put over it.

Any ideas??

Thanks!

If you’re not going to be taking it on and off, a simple piece of heatshrink may be an option. Or just temporarily until you get something better.

Another possibility to consider is to get a piece of carbon fiber tubing and cut it to length to give the bare barrel a finished appearance. If you like it, bond it to the barrel with some Loctite 638 to improve its stiffness.
