Personally I would just go with a Benjamin Fortitude. If it has a problem, just toss it and buy a new one. You'll have to swap the scope over though.
haha had me laughing on this one guy

I've been on this forum for a couple of years. I've seen the Impact, in particular, bashed pretty heavily, Even so it was still on my short list when it came time for a new airgun purchase. I was all set to get one of the competing brands but a friend of mine intervened and said he was going to get an Impact and told me why I should get one too. He said many of the things bigHUN said above regarding the problems aired on this forum.
I figured I'd give it a try and if I hated it I could sell it on the Classified section. Well, I got it and I love it! I've shot it nearly everyday since it arrived in May. Every little thing that has come up has been easily addressed. There is so much good advice on this forum and so many great "how-to" videos on YouTube. And yes, I do change and experiment with all the adjustments and have had stellar results. In fact I'm looking forward to getting home tonight for more trigger time with the Impact!
So, if some asks me I say GO FOR IT!
But guise theres that thread where a dozen people "voted" and turns out the impact is the most unreliable gun ever. So move aside Benjamin wildfire you got a challenger.

I don’t think FX is the most unreliable, but other people did in that thread. I can post another thread by the same name and give people another chance to think of a gun more unreliable. Reliability doesn’t mean junk though, it just means that FX is not the type of gun you put in your truck at work.
Oh yeah totally true, it's not like the main events are 75 and 100y benchrest. The speed shooting event is the highlight.

My impact was simply was not as accurate as my other guns at any range but if I were to choose one gun to shoot to the tightest groups in variable windy conditions at 75 and 100 yards, I would choose the impact, Why, because it can shoot quickly , so it’s much easier for me to adjust POA on the fly as I would only be compensating for wind drift variation of a few seconds rather than compensating for wind changes every 30 + seconds with one of my more accurate single loaders.
Shooting my impact quickly over the chrono and the consistency was as good or nearly good as my other guns, shoot more slowly at different time intervals and the consistency was rubbish by comparison.
There is no other airgun shooting competition I can think of where you would choose to use a magazine over single loading a pellet. I still believe the extreme benchrest competition is dominated by the impacts because of it ability to quickly shoot large calibres at high speed.

@bob_o I think it only gets personal when very condescending individuals try to diminish someone else’s legit issues by saying things that attempt to invalidate their complaints.
