This upsets me because it is not helpful

It is when someone asks about wanting to get a air gun that fits their budget. They state that,ok?
Then we get someone or a couple of people saying get so and so airgun because it's worth spending a lot more money for. Guess what? You just did that person a disservice. They told you they had a budget. It's not up to you to tell them they should spend $1000 over their budget. You do not know why they have a budget. I think these people who are saying to get an airgun outside the budget are just bragging on what they have,, or cannot read.
Another thing I see...a person will post all the information needed in their post and someone will ask a question that is Already stated,Like read the post ,that information is already in there ok I know that we all skim at times.
Thank you for your thoughts ,I am always willing to listen.
Budget is a word with many meanings.

I agree it’s unhelpful when then budget is $500 and the suggestions completely disregard that.

That said there are reasons to go outside of a stated budget or ask to understand it better.
- stated goal or use conflicts with the budget
- if the budget can increase by waiting and saving more money, sometimes going a little over budget is worthwhile to get into a better product.
- if the budget will somehow result in an unsafe or inhumane situation.

I think a lot of folks with disposable income have an airgun or two that they would have done differently in hindsight. But that doesn’t mean you should disregard the stated budget.

Exactly, My recommendation in such a case is put those funds back, wait a while and save a bit more and buy quality.
Yes, so yes. Something that seems long lost in most cultures that can afford any air gun. Literally everyone can save more funds or do more work for more funds and wait. We all have got so used to the quick gratification we dont even think about waiting a few more months to save up and get something actually good.

I also wanted to add that I almost always give my suggestions at/near/under a posters budget, but also give some "better" options that are a bit more.

Ya, A conversation i had the other day. I can afford a Ford Maverick. But no someone tells me. "Save your money and buy a F150". As if he didn't even hear me. Happens all the time here and everywhere.
Well, you would be better off with a 90s F150, the Maverick is terrible truck with many quick occurring problems, coming from ford techs I know. They should direct you to an alternative still in your budget reguardless.
