To start things off, I am an aircraft mechanic. This morning at work, we had an airplane go to take off and hit a flock of house sparrows. Takeoff was aborted and the plane made it back to the hangar safely. I was the first at the aircraft and I have never seen anything like this. Sparrows were plastered everywhere. Both engines ingested these pest birds. This could have been a catastrophic event, but someone was looking out for our pilots. If you ever think twice about shooting these little pests, hopefully this post will ease your mind on blowing them straight to the afterlife.
