The UTG Scout scope was just to big. It defeated the whole purpose of the scout rifle theory. I was really concerned with parallax issued with pistol scopes. After some good feedback on here, I found a vintage Charles Daily 2x pistol scope. Made in Japan, could be a Hikko. Saved over 12 ounces with rings. Parallax seams fine at under 30 yards. Gun handles so much better and fits the scout role as Col. Jeff Cooper designed it. Here pictures of both set ups which one do you like?

I like the top one better. It's more compact. Those Japanese made scopes are very good. I have a Japanese made Tasco 2x pistol scope mounted on a M-96 Mauser and it works very well. I also have a 2x Burris pistol scope on another rifle. For scout scopes I prefer the fixed power pistol scopes because they are the most compact.

Short Scout scopes are around. I had one on a M14 SOCOM that I have.
Don't worry about the parallax in "pistol" scopes. They work well as a Scout Scope too.
I've done a fair amount of scope/sight swapping to find what I want on each rifle/pistol that I have.
