Got this black tree rat, check out the tip of his tail. 

He was waving his flag in surrender, take no prisoners. Maybe a little breeding with a skunk. Not surprised. HW80 .25 and a Hades. Crow

My wife is from Ohio, and they have lots of those small black squirrels, they don't quite get as big as our eastern greys.

Here in Western MA we have them in plenty. Nice shot…

Shot some in the mts. of Colorado back in the early 80s with a rf. The first one I saw was in deep snow on the ground. Looked like a black cat.

Looks like that squirrel got his tail caught under the wheel of a moving car when he was trying to cross the road

 parasite. Got a grey as well.
