The other end that fills into that Shrader (SP?) valve needs to be able to handle really HP too. I hate probes but have no problem with foster fittings. Seems a solution to a problem that really doesn’t exist.

Good info. InterestingNitrogen filling up to 4k psi with Shrader valves is common, it's not at all a safety hazard. You just need the rated fittings and they are pricey!
The A-6 Intruder for example, took 3k in the struts for preload and the emergency landing gear blowdown took 4.2k. Both were filled with Shrader valves and whips.
