Theoben SLR Reseal Part 1

I recently resealed and replaced the piston crown on a Theoben SLR for fellow member Wijib. I thank you for trusting me with such a fine rifle.

Firstly, this is an heirloom condition and quality rifle. It is a Theoben SLR .177 carbine with a Hyedua stock.

All non marring tools are used and the work is done on a soft rubber mat with no tools or foreign objects allowed on the work surface.

The rifle was degassed and disassembled.

The original crown had deteriorated over time and was the consistency of a wax candle.

The ram was disassembled.

The inertia weight removed. This was not easy since this model does not have a hole in the center of the inertia piston which creates a vacuum. A vacuum pump and some redneck plumbing parts were fabricobbled together to create a vacuum strong enough to remove the piston.

A new piston crown was installed and sized to fit just just right.
