Theoben SLR 98 .22 long rifle, as accurate as they come

One of my most accurate air rifles with a smooth and easy firing cycle: the rare and beautiful Theoben SLR 98 .22, LONG barrel. Hyedua sporter stock, topped with a Busnell Legend 5-15x40 MD.

5 shot group shot from a seated FT position, AA 16 gn pellets, mild wind, 26 yards. One tight ragged hole, with 4/5 going through the same hole. I should really practice benchrest to see what accuracy this rifle's capable of. One thing's for sure, SLR 98 .22 long deseves better optics!

I really should name this sweetheart...Any suggestions?

A 16 gn AA field, standing up for reference. I'm not gonna bust out the calipers, but looks to be less about .1987 center-to-center 😆

Thanks for looking!

That's awesome J! But I suspect you shoot a piston gun as well from the FT position as you (or anyone else) could from benchrest. I can't get as consistent groups from benchrest with piston guns.

That makes the 2 of us Ron. Hard to explain, but off the knee or over the arm the hold feels natural, and the rifle is able to do "its thing". A flattish bottomed heavy stock helps, too. I always liked the older TX200 pre fishscale stocks (Pro Elite, too) because of their slightly wider and flattish bellies.
