Will be slow rust blued. I don't know why I waited so many years to do this. At one point I thought I might have made it too small and the trigger would bottom out. No, it fits perfectly. about 3/64" clearance. In the white it almost looks like aluminum.
 
Your new trigger guard looks a thousand times better than the original. Good job!

Thank you very much. I don't really know why Ben and Dave settled on that trigger guard in 1982. All the other subsequent gas rams got a nicer one but the Sirocco Deluxe carried on with the rather simple bent steel guard. The next version Sirocco Classic got a nicer one.

When I bought the rifle the dealer also had an Eliminator that had a nicer guard for sure but I did not care for it's porky weight one bit. I just thought to myself I can make my own nicer guard. I didn't know I would wait over 30 years to do it. Oh well, here it is. The plan is to use Mark Lee Express rust blue solution on it
