The wait is almost over...

"marcella69"I'm certainly learning a fair amount of physics. And also that what is experienced in the field is not necessarily what the tables say!
You got that right, a lot of difference shooting at targets across flat ground verses hills, creeks, knolls and what ever we end up shooting over while out hunting, the bench only gets you to zero at a certain distance with wind being the real only factor that works against us.

"marcella69"I think the RAW .357 thread will be a bigger than the FX Impact one!

It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside when my Chrony, zero, and ranging data proves to be spot-on when I take a 96 yd shot at a bunny's brain pan.
I think it will, not to say anything about the Impact being I was looking at buying one before I got bit by RAW but seems FX is starting to have its flaws come out and rather quickly may I add.

As Helmuth von Moltke the Elder said in Moltke on the Art of War: Selected Writings, "No plan of operations extends with any certainty beyond the first contact with the main hostile force." That is not to say that research and training should be discounted. Quite the contrary, as Sun Tzu said, "Every battle is won before it's fought." Training takes over in the heat of battle.

"marcella69"I've only ever used Chairgun. I like it because it's specifically designed for Hawke scopes, which I use. I've found it to be spot-on. Plus, it's free ;-)
That's why I like Nikons Program built for their scopes, I have Nikon BDC scopes on a few of my bolt hunting rifles and have used it in a sense for my Vortex scopes, just find a Nikon that's close and go with that and then adjust on the bench.

I gotta say I was somewhat disappointed in the performance of my Impact .30. I really didn't consider her a 100 yard gun and I was plagued with bottle leaks. But maybe that's because I didn't have a stable enough shooting platform and was constantly swapping-out bottles. I've since bought a two-point rifle rest adapter for my Trigger Stick tripod and a pony bottle for bottle re-fills. I keep improving my game. Another factor may be that FX has just gotten too big for its britches and QC is suffering. I must say, Martin sure runs a tight ship over there in Minor Hill!

Martin does run a mighty fine ship that's why I need to order sooner then later that way I'll get mine this year still and about FX, seems I read more about there QC and leaks more and more and now they have orders for that new Crown, wonder how that's going to go? I'm happy with my Marauders and Hatsan witch do everything I need in .22 and .25 and the BullDog is fantastic, does what I want it to do also, the BullBoss .25 is still newer to me but so far I like it also..So now it's time to up the ante and go BIG and that's where the RAW comes in,sure I'll still probly get something like the Sam Yang .45 and the Dragon Claw Twang n Bang .50 but not till next year.

Man, you certainly have quite an arsenal. I'm a one-gun man, fo' sho'! I really wish I could afford to keep all my weapons, if for nothing else than to hang the beauties on the wall!

I'm not a fan of the Sam Yang and Dragon Claw, because they are not regulated. (I'm spoiled now.) If I were to go that route, and i just may, I'd go with this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyEuKtPGrng&t=281s

I've watched that video before, the Hammer is a big Airgun for sure....There is a guy that has a YouTube channel and all he does is the Sam Yang 45 and to tell the truth for the cost it's pretty impressive,he is really informative, just can't think of his name right now..Id be getting the 45 and 50 just to have those two caliber's in my collection and then shoot them a couple times a year.
