The time has come for a new shooting range.

I’m finally getting a new range built. For testing purposes my current shooting range is somewhat limited. This new shooting lane should get me about 45 yards max. Will be a few weeks before it’s all done & ready to roll, but I’m super excited already.

Your making me jealous, winter is taking over here in michigan and outdoor shooting is less appealing.

The underground range concept is very appealing to me. I've got the space for it, and could even dig it myself....but when I priced out the pipe I just couldn't justify it. I figured 18 inch pipe at an absolute minimum, to account for wiggle room and a trajectory of a 20ish fpe pellet out to 50 yards. Bigger diameter only made it harder to justify ($$$). Two nails in the coffin to that idea. First was when I trenched for the sprinkler system and the trenches had standing water in them the next morning, so water table is really high. Second was the flooding in the fields next to me from heavy summer monsoon rains. Both of which made me realize that pumping out the water from a wind-free accuracy testing setup under ground every time I wanted to use it would be pretty miserable.

thought the same thing with the same result .

I just cut down everything between the two big oaks to the far left and right in this pic to open things up. When I clear the stuff at the back of the field I'll have another 100yds for just under 300 total. I've got poison ivy all over me right now from doing that... yep there too.
Dawn liquid dish soap helps remove poison ivy oils from your skin. Wash with it regularly. The blue stuff.

Works as well as tecnu but way cheaper.

Been using Dawn 4X every day for the last month but no relief. I've had a problem with poison ivy all my life and a cortisone shot has been my only relief. The only reason I haven't got the shot is that I'm greedier than the doctors who want to charge me an arm and a leg for it.

An update: My new range will still be a thing, however, there was a setback. The guy that was building the fence, took off with about $5K that I paid him to build the fence. So far, I have recovered $2K. Probably early to mid Summer before I can start building the actual range 😠
Oh that's terrible news, hope you recover all your money 🙏 .

Christian that’s a real bummer. I got the same feeling in my gut when I read this as when someone stole my car years ago. Hope you get all your money back soon.
