"The Thrill is Gone" ... Syndrome, & ‎Edgun Leshiy

Well, there's a WTB ad for an L2 on the Classifieds so maybe it cancels it out lol. The thrill is definitely not gone with me for my L2 in .30cal. It has just mellowed because of the shortage of JSB pellets but that's with all my airguns. I am shooting less and only shooting the guns that I have more ammo for which happen to be in .22. I think dizzums made a point though lol.

LOL! Had it a long time, since April! April 2021? 2020? 2019? I don't consider 3 months all that long, but I guess it's all relative!

The problem with buying a used high tech air gun like the L2, SK-19 or K1, is not knowing if it has issues or not. These hammerless air guns are a bit more complicated than a regular hammer driven air gun, and parts availability is another issue.

I'd love a L2 Short in .22, but not at the price of a new one! If I knew the seller and the price was right, I might could be persuaded to get one.

In the past 30 days, there have been a total of four (4) Leshiy 2 listed for sale. Four . . . out of the many hundreds sold worldwide.

One of those was from ctshooter, a buddy who is a known tinkerer and had two of them so he was just selling off his spare. There have been quite a few more listings for Leshiy 2 related parts and accessories so that may make it appear like a lot more Leshiy 2's are being sold than there actually are. The Leshiy 2 has been around for nearly a year now, which is plenty of time for many once excited owners to satisfy their curiosity and move on to other things. I'd say this is pretty normal for most guns so I don't think it's any indication that there's some sort of mass sell-off of the Leshiy 2. Heck, I think I've seen as many Impact M3's listed for sale in recent months as the L2's . . . and the M3 has only been around for a couple of months.

The Leshiy 2 is great gun and most of the people that have one love it. It's not perfect (a perfect gun doesn't exist) but as long as you understand its pros & cons and have realistic expectations of it, it's fantastic. Light weight, portable, incredibly innovative and fun to shoot.

Having a classic Leshiy I entertained thoughts of adding it's newer updated semi auto brother. But reality has a way of gangster slapping one upside the head every once in a while. For me trading some two thousand frog skins for a semi auto pistol / carbine during these somewhat chaotic economic times, did not make sense. Specialty when there are other economical choices now on the semi auto market place. Consider I could buy three AEA SS pistols with pellets and still have frog skins to fill my truck's gas tank.

Okay, considering I am one who had a Leshiy 2 come and go, I think I have the street cred to chime in.

I loved my Leshiy 2, but between economics and wanting a longer range gun I sold it.

Will I get another Leshiy 2 in the future, probably not, but the Leshiy Classic, with a 20 and 25 cal barrel combo, is definitely in the top 3 choices after my Prophet Performance Compact arrives in August.

I think the L2 is a brilliant piece of engineering and overall solid, but I will go with the sub-$2000 category guns.

Give it a year, and you will see sub retail prices come up for the L2s.

Thank you for your First Hand review of the L2. Aside from what you said both mostly good and Lil' bad.....I have been told it is Not backyard friendly...I suspect this is due to the design, Maybe the rotor / Mag so exposed? On the .25 cal in a 350mm config/barrel is the Noise High? Is the power there say 950 fps/Jsb's ? Accuracy say even 3/4" @ 50 for Woods Walker & lastly the Reliability/Cycling. A few have chimed in and said the cycling mad issues.........

All in all a favorable platform in general...Seems mostly High end toys (and those who have Z Cash)...these are a somewhat of a novelty and most simply wish to move on.

I'm loving the L2's. I have a 250mm .25 and 350mm .22. The novelty has definitely not worn off! Since I got them they're the only thing I've really shot aside from an appreciation day with the original Leshiy (which still kicks butt - it's just not what I reach for right now). I haven't had any problems with either - they certainly avoid the pellet-seating problems that seem to plage the other semi-autos (and some other repeaters in general). They're very tunable - more factory information available than anything else I'm aware of. I have some other high-end guns which lost their luster pretty quickly, but I think the L2 has probably stopped my buying for a while - I'm just not seeing anything else that looks like it would trip my trigger to the same degree - and I'm not even sure what a 'better' gun might be like.

I don’t know that selling it in order to get a gun for longer ranges is going to get you that much further than the leshiy 2 does…? I have a .25 leshiy 2 and .30 fix impact MK2 and both are shooting at identical fps for their corresponding JSB pellets at right around 915 fps and the grouping is almost identical as well except the .30 are a bit larger so I guess the same size hole would mean it is slightly more accurate than a group of smaller pellets producing the same… Both are amazing guns the ability to pull the trigger as fast as you want 8 times in a row is fun! However, the impact is a beast and it’s quick to pull the lever back and forth with 23 rounds per mag and it’s quieter as well.. It’s tough for me to pick a winner at the moment! It’s a tie for now…

Congrats Chris,

What config did you get? & with what expectations? Power and accuracy?

I ordered the 350mm barrel in .25 I also got the 300cc bottle and the Valkyrie Akula handguard/Huma moderator combo, since I heard that the L2 is quite loud in stock form.

Not sure about the power yet, but I’m expecting good (if not great) accuracy out to 50 yards from JSB Kings (25.4 grains) at around 900 FPS.

Just heard from FedEx that it won’t arrive until tomorrow (Friday). Arrrgh!

Edgun shows velocity by caliber and barrel length on there site. I went with .22 as it was the only stock configuration that showed velocity in the high 800s with the 250 mm barrel. It just arrived yesterday so it should be a fun weekend.

Glad you got yours. FedEx keeps pushing back the delivery date on mine. It now says today, but could be Monday..Arrgh !
