The Taipan strikes again

.22 long, .217 23g H&N slugs, 935'ish fps. 100 yds. Big fatty too. I knew I connected but as the grass was kind of deep, and I was below him ... I didn't see him when he initially went down. I kept looking through the scope and then saw the "helicopter tail". Booyah. I took him off the roof of the car which you can see down near the farm equipment. #8 on the year, #3 with this Taipan.

Impressive shot! I despise groundhogs and eliminate every single one I see on my property. I've been using my 25 caliber Maverick but my next air rifle will be a Taipan in 22 caliber. The Maverick is very accurate and can generate all the power I need and then some, but it can be finicky and is sensitive to pov shifts if I accidentally bump or miss handle it. I think a Taipan would be a great companion to the FX, no fancy bells and whistles, just as accurate but extremely durable and reliable. Unsure if I want the standard or long variant.
