The Red 🐺 barks - not for BR for GD

Please don’t move my post into benchrest. It makes absolutely no sense there, they don’t shoot groups, and they don’t like them. They like cards.

This post is meant for guys like me who like to sit down on a Sunday and see if they can shoot a small group or some small groups better yet.

The red wolf really moves around when you shoot it. Which makes sense since it’s probably the most powerful sub caliber rifle ever built by any manufacturer. I’m finding myself really holding it, and actually leaning into it seems to help. What kind of a hold do you guys use?

I absolutely love shooting it, but it is a challenge to control. Check out the groups below. I had numerous three and four shot Cloverleaf style groups. Just never did it with five. 100 yds. Gentle winds with switches.

enjoy the groups, I did

Very good groups. I’ve found that the RW HP is very hold sensitive. I normally give a very light hold shooting with bipod and rear bag rest. I’ve removed the cheek rest from my stock because I seem to vary the cheek weld pressure from time to time and that changes the POI. At what speed are you shooting the RD Monsters?

I've discovered the same thing with mine. A light hold - not firm is the ticket for me.

Interesting take on the hold.
My Red Wolf currently likes a light hold with bipod and rear bean bag shooting 22RD around 980, and I am happy about that. It has not seemed nearly as sensitive as my Pulsar. The Pulsar was extremely sensitive. On high power, I really had to grip it and pull it into the shoulder. My testing for it changed dramatically with hold.
