Other The rabbit hole is never ending.

Looking for opinions on rifles. I currently own springer rifles and want to explore the world of PCP. I have a main focus on accuracy @100yrds. I plan on using this rifle for small game and birds but would like to be able to have a 30cal. for bobcats and possibly a yote if I feel like a challenge. The ability to shoot heavier pellets and or slugs would be great. (Both even better) Cost range I have seen options from 500 up to 4k and everywhere in between my budget is up to 2k but would like to be up and running for that cost. I already have glass but would need everything else. I have an option to buy an impact mk1 in .25 for $1650 but figured by the time I upgraded I would be back at just buying an m4. I've looked at the classifieds on here but can message anyone yet so figured let's go ahead and let the cat out the bag in a post. Some of the rifles I have looked at are below, but I am open to opinions of others because I don't think all of these are capable of shooting .30

FX Impact mk1-m4?
FX Maveric
FX King
Hatsun Factor Bullpup
Hatzun Blitz
Umarex Zelos
LCS ?
Western ?

Give me a hand and let me know. If it costs me a few hundred more to get what I want I would rather do it right the first time. I also need an entry level pump and some projectiles.

.30 cal? If you don't mind the length, get a Umarex g30 SL they are long, but you put a can on it and they are quiet beats that put out a lot of power for cheap.

You could go for a vulcan 3 .30 as they make tons of power, but they will be on the louder side.

UX Zelos .22 is perfect, you could set it up to 41fpe and get about 20-25 shots a fill, so 1 mag. But it's incredibly accurate with the right ammo.

Also the taipan Vet 2 are great and quiet as well with a bunch of shots per fill.

There is a compact Impact M3 at Bakersairguns.com for $1400. Leaves plenty of room to get a GX Cs3 off of ebay or amazon and buy $150 worth of ammo from Pyramid Air, get %11 off right now and over 150 is free shipping.
I found it looks like a 500. I also found one at capefear that has a 700 for a little more. Do barrel lengths help with accuracy like typical riffles or is it only providing more velocity?

I have seen the g30 SL it is quite long. I have also seen some pictures with tactical stocks. Not sure if they were 3d printed or readily available but again now I'm getting back into buying something just to tear it down and upgrade it haha.

True, but for the money spent, it's well worth it. Especially because changing the stock is just as simple as removing screws and putting them back on.

I had one and I sent it out to get the barrel cut down to 19" and to put a 500cc 300b bottle, had the reg set to 3100psi and the gun still put over 100fpe for like 24 shots.

Instead of it being 49" without a moderator it was 43 with a mod. And you don't even need to get a different stock for it. What they do need is the hajimoto 2nd stage trigger. It's $130 but it transforms that gun.

I digress, it is long, and you could just have it stock and it will shoot phenomenally out to distance. FX Kings are nice, but I have no experience with them.

FX impacts are great if you leave them alone ONCE you tune them correctly.

Airmaks or AGT. that's it. No constant insane maintainence, no need to check zero every single session. No first shot low velocity, no creep. CZ barrels that are very accurate. I've had several FX guns, had the zelos, had snowpeaks, Air venturis, Hatsans, a diana, a Daystate.

Airmaks Katran should be able to be obtained for $1k or slightly less used on here.
The CZ barrel is solidly mounted, it is thicker than the FX silly straw.
The efficiency is very high
The Consistency is very high,
just a great gun

Best thing to do is just stay active on here and watch the classifieds. Once your 10days is up you can message people and prob get everything you need and stay way under budget. I just realized the maverick .30 in the classifieds has a great scope on it,but not a great moderator. If noise is not an issue, you would stay under budget there as well, with room for a compressor and ammo.

Is this the one on the tripod? Yeah the 10 day thing stinks but I guess it blocks spam. I had reached out to Esteban from FT and he replied but then disappeared so here I am back on the drawing board lol.

Wow, @Scotay42 covered literally everything I was going to type lol.

BC has their upgraded Maverick 30Cal on sale again. I would call them and see if they would take a little more off the top. But even at their listed sale price still a decent deal for a new FX imo. Even comes with some ammos.

And for a starter compressor the GX CS3 is a good option, and is currently rebuildable which is nice. They have coupons on amazon from time to time and you can find them for just over $300 sometimes. I would also keep my eye out for a used AGT Uragan or Vulcan, FX Maverick Wildcat Impact DRS Panthera etc here in the classifieds.

ETA: To complete your package a UTG Accu-Sync mount is a sturdy budget scope mount, and pick a decent 30Cal Moderator and that should keep you right at your total budget goal. Also I wouldnt dismiss a 25Cal, a stout pcp will be able to ethically take down a coyote. My Impact MK2 does an easy 80fpe and I would use it on a coyote if I had to, and I admittedly am on the more reserved side of the hunting ethics conversation.

If it were me and set on .30, i would buy the Maverick sniper setup, from the classys, this compressor off of ebay,(from a good seller) and then have 200 for ammo from pyramid air. Then you could trade the scope for another small caliber pcp or sell it to recoup a bit.

I get runners with .308 110gr vmax and 6.5gren 123gr sst. Some of the toughest are here in VA to both call and drop.

I would add that shot placement and responsible distances will still limit any pcp. But close shots with a 25Cal slug will drop a coyote, at least the small ones we have out here on the west coast.

I really appreciate all of yalls help. This Maverick at BC looks promising and for a few dollars more I would have a warranty and know exactly what I was purchasing. I will message the person down the road from me selling this Impact and see if they are willing to drop the price down or would the Maverick still be a better option.

FX Impact Airgun With Hawke Scope, Bipod, & Case

That Impact is way overpriced. MK2 are worth about $850-1050 depending on upgrades and extra parts, and they are a lot better than the Gen1 imo. I dont think I would even consider buying a Gen1 unless it was super cheap, like around the price of an Edelbrock 1406.

ETA: And for a 30Cal you are really going to want the power plenum at a minimum, which is commonly found on the MK2 and newer.
