The Proof is in the Pop

It is satisfying to hear that pop. But I do most of my pest shooting from inside my house. I can’t really run around my yard with a “gun”.
So I don’t hear the pop. What is satisfying for me is retrieving my kill. But sometimes a can’t even do that. Birds fall into the thick blackberry bushes and if I shoot a rat or mouse late at night. Sometimes a cat or possum or raccoon comes around and picks them up before morning. That’s what happened early this morning . Shot a rat at about 2am. Went out there at 7am to retrieve it. And nothing there. But there was this.

I always zero my gun from my shooting position to the bait pile. Shot the rat off the fence. This target was about 18 inches below where the rat was. I think it was a kill shot.
